Educate to Space respects copyright. Members post their own text, replies, and images to our community, and we act on properly submitted copyright complaints about that content.

This page explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, how to respond if your content was removed by mistake, and what happens to accounts that infringe repeatedly.

1. Our Designated Copyright Agent

We have registered a designated agent with the United States Copyright Office to receive notices of claimed copyright infringement.

Please send copyright notices to the agent above. Sending them elsewhere, including to individual members, moderators, or general support, may delay our response.

2. Reporting Claimed Infringement

If you believe content on Educate to Space infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, send our Copyright Agent a written notice that includes all of the following:

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If several works are covered by one notice, a representative list of them.
Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it. A direct link to the post, reply, or image is the most reliable way.
Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices missing these elements may not be effective and may delay or prevent action.

Please consider whether the use is permitted before sending a notice. Fair use, licensed use, and use with the owner's permission are lawful. Under Section 512(f) of the Copyright Act, a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

3. What We Do With A Notice

When we receive an effective notice we act promptly. We typically:

remove the material or disable access to it;
notify the member who posted it, and pass on your notice, which will normally include your name and the contents of the notice; and
tell that member how to submit a counter-notice.

We may also remove content that breaks our Terms of Service or User Guidelines regardless of any copyright question.

4. Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you are authorised to use the material, you may send our Copyright Agent a counter-notice containing all of the following:

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your name, address, and telephone number.
A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the district where you live, or, if your address is outside the United States, for any district in which Educate to Space may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice we will forward it to the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless that person tells us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.

A counter-notice is a legal statement made under penalty of perjury. If you are unsure whether your use is permitted, seek advice before sending one.

5. Repeat Infringers

We terminate the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion. We may also suspend or terminate access earlier where the conduct is severe, where content is submitted in bad faith, or where an account is used mainly to infringe.

6. Trademark And Other Complaints

For trademark concerns, impersonation, or other intellectual-property complaints that are not copyright, use our Contact form and describe the issue. Our User Guidelines also prohibit impersonation and infringing content.

7. Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
